In addition to having extensive experience working with children in a variety of settings, I have my BA in Elementary Education & Special Education. I am CPR & First Aid certified with infants, children, and adults. I use baby sign language with infants and toddlers.

For the past 23 years, working with children has been more than just a job. It has been encouraging childhood development in a safe, secure, and loving environment. My educational experience has given me the confidence to teach children basic skills that they can use in everyday life in a way that works best for them. I love to use music and activities to educate children. I help children problem solve, and I serve as a guide and assistant in conflict resolution. I promote and encourage imagination and creativity. I also teach children how to respect themselves and others. I would like to work in an environment that allows me to partner with the parents to provide an atmosphere of encouragement, growth, and stability.

I have worked with children from infants to teenagers in: homes, schools, retreats, workshops, community centers, churches, conferences, and daycares. I have 11 years of strictly nanny experience, working with children as young as a couple days old to 7 years old. I have worked with kids in a nanny setting with the following special needs: Polymicrogyria (similar to Cerebral Palsy), Cortical Vision Impairment, non-mobile, non-verbal, G-Tube fed, Ketogenic diet, allergies, sensory processing challenges, Asperger’s syndrome, epilepsy, speech delay, and delays with eating solid foods in infants. In addition, as a substitute teacher, I work with children with and without special needs.

I have my own transportation and I love taking kids on outings to the park, zoo, community center, aquarium, hands on museums, libraries, swimming pool, etc. I also love reading with kids, playing make-believe, playing board/card games, playing outside, doing arts & crafts, and music.

I live and work full time in Bellevue, so I am currently available for part time work in the following cities: Renton, Newcastle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, & Issaquah on Mondays 4:30-7pm, every other Thursday 2pm-6pm, and some Saturdays 9am-1pm.
